pool. What do you say? Pool Boys answers this question (and more) in a summer romance
unlike any other.
From writer Josh Trujillo (Hulkling & Wiccan, Blue Beetle: Graduation Day) and artist Josh Cornillon (Young Men in Love), with letterer Lucas Gattoni (Liebestrasse), Pool Boys tells the story of Paul, a pool boy at the interdimensional Solitaire Resort, and Micah, a demon just passing through. This steamy romance focuses on found love, fleeting connections, and the fun we have along the way.
“Pool Boys is like a sizzling summer romance – scorching hot, aching, bittersweet, and sexy all at once,” says artist Josh Cornillon, “This is the vacation hookup you’ve been looking for!” Just in time for summer and Pride Month, Pool Boys combines Josh and Josh’s shared love of fantasy, luxury, and unconventional romance. Inspired by Palm Springs, Cornillon’s art style is seductive, playful, and vibrant. He creates a fantasy world where demons come to relax, and the hospitality staff are always ready to serve. Trujillo’s story combines the feelings of Heartstopper and the steam of Fire Island, creating an immersive world instantly relatable to fans of queer fantasy and queer love.
“Making Pool Boys has tapped into all the tropical resort inspiration I’ve had kicking around in my head for years, and I’m SO excited to be working with Josh Trujillo,” said Cornillon, “Since day 1, we’ve been on the same page and fallen in love with our own characters as we guide them through this new romance”.
