LGBTQA Previews September 2023 Part 1

Pride month is behind us now but there are several comics and graphic novels of special note coming out in September! Joe Glass’ and Vince Underwood’s The Miracles is coming in oversized issues from Comics Experience! Sainted Love by Steve Orlando and Giopota is a time travelling adventure story featuring a male couple fighting bigots! Look for the three parter from Vault! Trans writer and comic shop owner LaShawn Colvin passed away suddenly last October before her Beautiful Soldiers series could become available in comic shops. Beautiful Soldiers will now see print by Scout Comics which also publishes Death Drop Assassin that sees #2 in September.

There’s a tribute to Matthew Shepard by Leslea Newman and Brian Britigan which is published by Abrams Comic Arts. Coming from Andrews McMeel is Out Side, an anthology featuring stories by 29 trans and non binary creators. Archie Comics is putting out a Madam Satan special that looks to be fun — in an Archie sort of way. Queer In Asia by the creator Seven offers a “portrait of a [gay] Chinese youth in search of love and meaning.” This oversized book is from Black Panel Press. I read the story last year and Seven’s story is very intimate and challenging.

And there’s quite a lot more to the list so please take a few moments to peruse and hopefully find things to pique your interest!
