FYI, the Prussian born Baron Friedrich von Steuben is the military officer, rumored to be homosexual, volunteered his services to train the fledgling Continental Army at the request of General George Washington. The war of Independence would have drug on much longer or possibly had a different outcome Without Von Steuben’s dedication and efforts to turn the ragtag freedom fighters into fighting soldiers. Take that, John McCain! Von Steuben Day is September 17th, too!
