
Robert Triptow is a writer, journalist, cartoonist and editor of several publications including Gay Comix, where he succeeded Howard Cruse for issues #8 – 13; Gay and Lesbian Cartoons You Could Show Your Grandmother, which won the first Lambda Literary Award for humor in 1989; and Strip AIDS USA: A Collection of Cartoon Art to Benefit People With AIDS, which he shared duties with Trina Robbins and Bill Sinkiewicz. Strip AIDS received a Special Achievement Award from the San Diego Comic Con. As a cartoonist his work has appeared in Gay Comix, Real Girl, Naughty Bits. Juicy Mother, Young Lust, Meatmen, and The Book of Boy Trouble 2, and No Straight Lines: Four Decades of of Queer Comics.
Triptow is currently working on a book titled Class Photo, inspired by a found photograph, to be published by Fantagraphics.
