Gene and Paul are an older married couple who live in San Francisco, and who got caught in the chaos when Terrax the Tamer attacked the city. Paul was trapped under the wreckage of a car, and Gene was unable to pull him free but refused to abandon them. When Terrax came across the couple, Gene tried to attack him to defend Paul, but he was no match for the former herald of Galactus!
Gene and Paul were saved by the intervention of the self-described Superior Spider-Man (Otto Octavius), who had recently set himself up as San Francisco’s local superhero. Otto lifted the car off of Paul, and battled Terrax while the two men got to safety.
Gene and Paul appeared in The Superior Spider-Man #2 (2019) by Christos Gage and Mike Hawthorne., Wade Von Grawbadger, and Jordie Bellaire.
