Every ninety years, twelve gods recur in human bodies. Within two years, all twelve gods die. Baal Hadad is one of the twelve gods to recur in the 2010s in England. Baal was also a part of the last Recurrence, in the 1920s.
The 2013 incarnation of Baal recurred in 2013, and was the first god of his Recurrence to manifest. Shortly thereafter, his father was killed by something called the Great Darkness. Baal is a sky god and has lightning generation powers. He uses this in different ways, such as creating a cage out of lightning or traveling through cell phones.
Baal had a relationship with fellow god Inanna, who was gender queer and used male pronouns. Baal and Inanna had a falling out when Inanna slept with the god Lucifer, and Baal and Inanna never reconciled before Inanna’s death. Baal regrets never telling Inanna that he loved him. Baal is currently in a relationship with the goddess Persephone.
Baal is pansexual and has also gone by the name Valentine. Baal’s first appearance is in The Wicked + The Divine #2
