Agent Kim was an agent of the terrorist organization Hydra, who served as a scout — he was their eyes and ears for various operations around the world, including missions in Symkaria and Genosha. At some point he had a relationship with Daken, the son of Wolverine, which he kept secret.
Years later, Kim was Hydra’s eyes and ears at an auction for two claws and a vial of blood taken from the deceased Wolverine (Logan). Daken interrupts the auction, and declares that from that day forward, anyone who attempts to buy, sell, trade or replicate any part of Wolverine will die unfulfilled, at his hand. Daken informed the room that three of them would be spared to deliver the message, and the rest would be his demonstration!
Fulfilling his orders to be the “eyes and ears”, Kim watched as Daken slaughtered everyone present except for himself, Mystique and Madame Viper. After the two women had departed Kim and Daken shared a kiss, and Daken tells him to remember what they once shared and to go live while he can.
Days later Kim was interrogated about the incident by a pair of Hydra agents, and he relayed the events without providing the personal details of his encounter with Daken. The interrogators could tell Kim was holding back something and demanded to know why Daken spared him, but Kim refused to reveal the nature of their relationship. One of the interrogators was a telepath, who ripped the truth from Kim’s mind–and killed him in the process. They regret that they had not learned earlier that Kim and Daken were lovers, feeling that they could have exploited that relationship, but now they have nothing.
It is interesting that Daken seemed to have some genuine affection for Kim, since back in his villain days Daken tended to be more of a sociopathic manipulator who used his lovers as tools, rather than actually caring at all about them.
